We are a privately owned, multi-location optometry practice in Northern Virginia looking for a professional and caring optometric technician to join our team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform a patient work up which includes auto-refraction, visual field screener (FDT), NCT and Optos
- Obtain patient’s chief complaint and review medical and vision history, update patient’s oral and ocular medications, family ocular history and social history
- Perform specialized testing when instructed; includes Humphrey Visual Field testing, Zeiss OCT, Diopsys (ERG & VEP), Topography
- Understanding of contact lenses and ability to perform insertion and removal classes for first time contact lens wearers
- Administrative duties include attending phones, making appointments, handling doctor-to-doctor correspondence
- Work alongside fellow colleagues and doctors to create a positive work environment and provide an excellent patient experience
Teamwork is essential therefore candidate must be eager to help when needed and step outside of their comfort zone if asked. Salary is based on experience and knowledge.
