Careage Home Health is looking for an experienced billing specialist to ensure that all claims are billed and collected in a timely manner.
This individual will also ensure that authorization is received from insurance companies for patient services, post payments and adjustments to accounts from patients and insurance companies, and will assist with other duties as assigned.
Our ideal candidate must be able to identify barriers to billing and problem solve. The ability to organize and multitask is essential. Also need the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Problem-solving: Find solutions for the problems with customers’ service and work with the clinical manager regarding decisions for service and severity.
This position will be either in our Bellevue or Renton offices.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Bill claims to insurance companies.
2. Contact insurance companies regarding denials.
3. Review insurance payments to ensure proper payment was made.
4. Review Accounts Receivable to determine what is necessary to receive payment and zero out the balance.
5. Post payments received from insurance companies and patients according to the deposit day.
6. Print collection journals and match them with the bank deposit log.
7. Contact insurance companies regarding authorization.
8. Print and mail patient statements as well as follow up to ensure patient payments are received.
9. Run the following reports to aid with claims and authorizations (a. RAPs at Risk, b. Field Status, c. Authorizations Report, d. Accounts Receivable.
10. Review and follow up with face-to-face documentation and eligibility for home health.
. Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have prior insurance authorization/medical billing experience
- Must have experience requesting authorizations using G and S codes.
