Responsibilities
- Work as a part-time or full-time 1:1 nurse providing student care or work as a prn substitute school nurse in the Kane County schools.
- Positions available in U-46, East and West Aurora, Burlington, Elgin, St. Charles and Geneva schools.
- Hours for school nurses are generally 7:30 or 8 am to 2:30 or 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.
- Provide care for students with trach’s and g tube feedings OR be a substitute school nurse prn providing first aid and comfort measures.
- Collaborate with teachers and school team members to provide a healthy environment for learning.
- Monitor patient’s condition and notify appropriate personnel of any changes.
- Assure proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
- Adhere to compliance guidelines throughout processes (OSHA, FDA, HIPAA).
Qualifications
- RN unencumbered license in State of Illinois
- Driver’s license
- Minimum one year medical experience required
- School nurse or pediatric experience preferred
- Experience with suctioning trach’s and administering enteral feedings preferred
- CPR/BLS required
- Clean background check and ability to pass drug screen
