As the Business Office Assistant you will support the day-to-day business office functions of the facility in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to the long-term care operation. The ideal candidate will have LTC Business Office or Medicaid experience and LTC or Hospice Billing experience is preferred but not required.:
Job Duties Include:
- Meeting with residents/families to discuss their financial obligations
- Follow PPS
- Follow from Admission through Discharge for Payer Authorizations
- Assist with insurance authorizations
- Oversee transitions to LTC and authorizations
- Collection of private and income monies owed to the facility
- Co-Insurance Billing and follow through
- Coordinate, review, and analyze documentation and data entry supporting Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Assist with gathering of documentation for Medicaid applicants
- Maintain tracking tools to ensure that all necessary information is secured for timely accurate payment. This includes eligibility, insurance verification, authorizations, certification and re-certification, and state required documentations for Medicaid and Room and Board payment
Education Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree preferred
- Long-Term Care Business Office and/or Medicaid experience
- Three (3) years of billing in a Long Term Care or Hospice setting preferred
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Excel and Microsoft office experience required
- Knowledge of Point Click Care preferred
