Care Medical
has an outstanding opportunity for a Professional Development Generalist to join our team. This role includes the functions of an educator, facilitator, leader, and consultant in the area of nursing practice. This position participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, orientation, and required and continuing staff education. This role will anticipate and forecast educational needs and trends and will implement evaluation plans for educational programs and projects in partnership with Amazon Care (AC) Learning team. This role will also assist Care Medical leadership in the creation and monitoring of impact of training related to skill building and educational needs of staff.

The Professional Development Generalist will report to Care Medical’s Education Director, and work closely with AC Learning & Development team and will deliver and evaluate continuing education and training interventions for all health professionals and support personnel within Care Medical.

In addition, to your Generalist responsibilities, you will spend .5 of your time delivering in person urgent/episodic (On-Demand) as well as scheduled preventative care, and chronic disease management when care needs extend beyond AC’s virtual services.

Responsibilities:


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 5 FTE of the Generalist’s time is spent in the clinical role of MVRN.
  • 5 FTE of the Generalist’s time is spent serving the CM team to ensure onboarding of new MVRNs and ongoing training for existing clinicians such that they are able to perform their work as a CM MVRN.
  • Identifies staff training and development needs on an ongoing basis and based upon identified learning needs (examples include but are not limited to: team-wide training programs, Performance Efficiency, new software systems, disaster, safety, accreditation, etc.).
  • Provides consultation and assistance in educational program planning, teaching methodology, and program evaluation (plans, organizes, teaches, and evaluates education programs), applies the principles of adult learning in all educational offerings.
  • Assists management in the development and maintenance of skill assessment and competency documentation tools. Coordinates skill verification programs in partnership with the AC L&D team.
  • Implements and evaluates a variety of formal continuing education programs for Care Medical MVRNs based on identified learning needs, emerging trends in health care, new processes and best practices.
  • Drives identifying skills development plans for individual employees, in conjunction with HR and provides individual training to help the person(s) improve.
  • Mentors and assists new employees to assimilate successfully into the workforce.
  • Develops/conducts and updates employee orientation with regards to clinical and cultural content within Care Medical.
  • The Professional Development Generalist works with the AC L&D team to ensure these programs are delivered to the CM team.
  • Serves as training expert and liaison representing Care Medical clinicians.
  • Serves as a member of committees, work groups, and multidisciplinary teams as appropriate. serve as a people leader and clinical leader for the Care teams at Care Medical.
  • Executes the Care Medical vision and strategy for deployment of integrated care delivery.

Qualifications:


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state of residence and the state of Washington.
  • Bachelors in Nursing and a minimum of four years clinical RN experience required, including 1 yr min working with pediatrics.
  • Three years’ experience in nurse triage, or three years’ experience in direct ambulatory care.
  • Two years’ experience in education/teaching required, including experience developing, implementing, presenting, and evaluating educational programs.
  • Ability to provide verification of COVID 19 vaccination by date of hire.

  • Must be willing to obtain licensure in multiple states as required and selected by business need (multiple licensure fees, application process and ongoing maintenance supported by Care Medical)
  • Possess BLS certification by date of hire.
  • Proficient in phlebotomy.
  • Current and valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and driving record in good standing.
  • Reliable mode of transportation for all scheduled shifts and observance all traffic laws and safety standards.
  • Able to regularly store and transport 3 – 6 cubic feet of medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. in vehicle and at home.
  • Assists in the provision of direct patient care to maintain skillset and promote staff education and direction; meets expectations outlined in RN job description and competency checklist. When feasible this position will include one clinical shift per month.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a minimum of four years clinical RN experience required
  • Experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency care, and/or ambulatory care.
  • Experience delivering patient care that flexes between virtual (chat, video, telephonic) and in-person care.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Proficient with various technology and typing speeds of 40 WPM
  • Experience in telehealth or digital care modalities preferred
