Hours: A1 (32 to 40 hours) / full time
Shift: Days AM – NO WEEKEND – NO ON CALL – NO HOLIDAY

The RN Navigator is an individual educated in nursing that has acquired training, knowledge and clinical skills in the management of patients and the ability to navigate the complex academic health system. The RN Navigaotr will serve as a coordinator throughout the continuum of care and will assess the physical, psychological and social needs of onocology patients in the ambulatory setting at UC Health West Chester. This person provides consultation, collaboration, coordination and support to oncology patients as outlined below.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Years of Experience:
- A Minimum of three years of acute hospital experience is required.
- BSN Required.
- Oncology Experience Preferred
- Certification by a nationally recognized professional nursing organization preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Inherent ability to view the hospital experience through the eyes of patients and family members to anticipate their needs and concerns.
- Stellar human relations, public relations, and communication skills.
- Evidence of continued professional growth.
- Strong working knowledge of hospital departments and how each affects patient throughput and satisfaction.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patients’ age.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify normal and abnormal changes in the physical, psychological, and emotional status of the age of patient populations served. -Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Evidence of continuing professional growth and the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships and constructive communications preferred.
- Self-starter with excellent written and communication skills is essential.
- Licensure by the Ohio Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
