Certified Nurse Aide (CNA INPATIENT PSYCHIATRIC FACILITY)

Location: Around Atlanta, TX

Job Type: 13-week contract

Shifts: Nights | 12 hrs

Pay: $27/hr

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide a safe environment for patients, provide hope, empowers patients, and teach new tools for coping to patients. The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with patients who are often in emotionally distraught situations.

Job Description:

• Obtain vital signs as indicated for assigned clients
• Notifies licensed staff of any behavior/medical/status changes in clients.
• Follows procedures to maintain client safety during emergency situations.
• Serves meals as assigned, encourages clients to attend meal times.
• Provides clients with clean clothes as needed and assists clients with personal laundry.
• Ensures clients are discharged with all property and Property Inventory is signed by the client after receipt of all property.
• Prepares vacated bedrooms for next admission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma/equivalent and formal nursing assistant training program required.
• Previous work experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant; Preferred: inpatient psychiatric nursing and/or medical/surgical experience
• Current Texas State Nurse Aide certification
• CPR certification
• Excellent customer service

Physical Demands

This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling more than 100 pounds, as well as frequent standing, walking, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential. Applicants must be able to work in a stressful environment.
