Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – Easterseals Western Central PA – Cranberry Township, PA

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization looking to hire a dynamic COTA to work with special needs children ages 3-8 years old at our Cranberry, PA location. This is a 4 month temporary position from February 1 through the first week of June, 2022.

JOB SUMMARY-COTA

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is responsible for administering occupational therapy services for children under the supervision of an occupational therapist. These services include structured assessments, treatment, and equipment adaptations/modification documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS-COTA

• Graduate of AOTA Approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program required.
• PA Occupational Therapy Assistant license (or eligible for license) required.
• Certificate of National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy required.
• Completion of education credits needed to maintain license/certifications required.
• Acceptable Criminal Record, Child Abuse and FBI Clearance required.
• Passing of physical examination and TB required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-COTA INCLUDE

• Determine children’s needs for services in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist (OTR).
• Implement interdisciplinary aspects of students current Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) which includes, but is not limited to: communication systems, behavioral interventions, feeding approaches, sensory diet, and mobility recommendations.
• Implement prescribed treatment plan for children on caseload.
• Contribute to the assessment process under the direct supervision of the OTR.

BENEFITS-COTA

• Work hours are Monday – Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 6-hours days totaling 30 hours per week. The hourly rate is $21.00.
