PRN- Med Tech/ CNA – Insight Memory Care Center – Fairfax, VA

Insight Memory Care Center is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit whose mission is to provide specialized care, support and education for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairments, their families, caregivers, and the community through our adult day health and resource center. Serving Northern Virginia since 1984, IMCC offers a spectrum of holistic care, education and support, with a vision of a community where those affected by memory impairments can achieve the highest quality of life. IMCC also provides a safe and therapeutic environment for people in all stages of dementia. This position is Monday-Friday, with possible hours during the operating hours of 7:30am-5:30pm. This position requires the candidate to possess a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Certified Nursing Assistant license. The Personal Care Assistant (CNA) will be responsible for day to day activities of participants in groups and as individuals to help meet their psycho-social needs. Personal Care Assistant (CNA) will be responsible for helping to assess the group needs of the participants, help participants with completing ADL’s while at the Center, specifically assuring that the participants have their toileting needs met. This position reports directly to the Program Director.

Education

High school diploma or GED. Staff who work with participants shall receive at least 24 hours of training no later than three weeks after starting employment.

Experience

1-2 years long-term care experience, gerontological experience including dementia population preferred; must have effective communication skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Certified Nursing Assistant required.
