Presbyterian Homes of Georgia is currently seeking a dynamic, talented and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as the QA and Education Nurse at our new Presbyterian Village, Athens, GA.

The QA and Education Nurse is a professional nurse responsible for all of the quality activities in the Health Services division which includes the following areas:

  • Long-Term Care/Nursing (40 Private Rooms)
  • Assisted Living (30 Private Rooms)
  • Memory Care/Support (30 Private Rooms)

The QA and Education Nurse is responsible for the monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of process and programs to meet regulatory, accreditation and standards of practice and focusing on practices and processes.

Examples of job responsibilities (not all inclusive):

  • Supports Presbyterian Homes of Georgia’s Mission & commitment to providing Exceptional Quality Care to the residents.
  • Responsible for working with Management and Nursing Leadership to design and develop the quality assessment performance improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the quality assessment performance improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Ensures that there are processes in place to monitor and measure all activities related to QAPI.
  • Provides direction and coordination of quality improvement activities utilizing continuous quality improvement principles and methodologies, while working collaboratively with the Nursing Leadership team.
  • Coordinates activities related to clinical record review for data collection.
  • Compiles, trends, and reports quality data in the areas of: patient care, safety, risk management, infection control, outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
  • Works collaboratively with nursing supervisors to assure documentation is complete and consistent with quality care and reflects the policy, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews any Quality reports and participates in addressing ways to improve quality services.
  • Collaborates with management staff in the follow-up of concerns expressed by stakeholders such as patients, families, and physicians—as assigned.
  • Utilizes models for improvement and provides training to facility personnel on the QAPI plan, and team development initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring processes to monitor and evaluate safety, risk management and infection control programs are maintained.
  • Coordinates, educates and implements monitoring activities for safety, risk management, and infection control.
  • Coordinates mandatory inservice programs on local, state and federal regulations relating to safety and infection control.
  • Acts as resource to staff in identifying safety and risk management issues for patients and staff.
  • Supervises and coordinates the facility inservice education program to ensure the training and educational requirements of all staff are met.
  • Educates the staff to help ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide quality care to the residents.
  • Enhances the relationships and understanding among staff, residents, family members, consultants, outside agencies, medical director and physicians by maintaining open communication and a consistently professional attitude.

Position Requirements:

  • RN or LPN license in Georgia.
  • Have a strong commitment to ensuring a culture of quality service.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Nursing Quality Assurance programs and development.
  • Minimum of 3 years leading, coordinating and/or supervising staff inservice and education programs.
  • Supervisory/Leadership position in Nursing is preferred.
  • Have demonstrated experience supervising & leading Nursing staff.
  • Previous experience in Skilled / Long Term Care.
  • Previous experience in Assisted Living and Memory Care/Support is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal & State Long-Term Care rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Assisted Living and Memory Care/Support regulations.
  • Have a strong desire to work with senior adults.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication, organization and time-management skills are required.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems or similar database systems.
  • Experience with MicroSoft Office products.
  • Previous Nursing experience in the Long-term care, hospital or related healthcare field would be a plus.
