Pastry Sous Chef Position Overview

  • Work together and learn from a talented team and high executive chefs.
  • A Pastry Sous Chef transforms gluten free and high-quality ingredients into delicious pastries and baked goods in accordance with Breadblok’s recipes
  • Measure and mix ingredients to ensure food strictly adheres to standard recipes.
  • Follow and enforce kitchen/bakery hygiene and safety standards.
  • Work to a tight production schedule to produce approved menu items based on daily pars.
  • Observe safety and security procedures.
  • Ensure all final product quality and presentations adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

This is a unique experience for someone who wants to learn the ins and outs of the gluten free world and how it translates into beautiful and mouthwatering French pastries. Pastry or similar experience is required.

Candidates must be:

  • An avid and fast learner.
  • Able to work well in a team, as well as independently.
  • Attentive to detail. Must produce top-quality, artisan products every single time!
  • Meticulous in terms of maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Candidates must have a food handlers certificate.
  • Reliable, timely, and trustworthy.
  • Creative; we love ideas for new products!
  • Enthusiastic and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Willing to work early hours.
  • Willing to go the extra mile.
