Our team proactively assists our partners providing analytical solutions and services to develop metric reporting that enables MetLife Holdings business and associates make better-informed and timely business and strategic decisions. In addition, the team completes business analysis, transformational change, and capability building. The business intelligence capabilities, reporting and analysis delivers core data and requirements in an easy to understand view and for our business Operations and Program Governance partners to manage their business and projects. You will be responsible for understanding the business, creating, and building reports on Enterprise and Industry Business Intelligence (BI) tools, leveraging agile methodologies. In addition, you will have responsibility for other aspects of a business analyst role, including requirement development, project reporting, various analysis work, and program governance. This includes enhancing current reports, identifying new reporting opportunities, and continuing to educate partners on capability building. You’ll partner, advise, and collaborate with business teams on their day to day reporting needs, problem solving to find solutions and partnering with the team to define a delivery schedule. Additionally, you’ll bring deep BI knowledge, expertise, and innovative solutions to every situation. You will have the opportunity to leverage your proven BI skills. In this role, you will focus on Microsoft Power BI solutions. The role will apply and share technical knowledge, with proven business knowledge, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to ensure the Metrics Team is delivering on expectations, to apply the highest levels of data, insights, and analytics to the organization.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Gather detailed requirements/user stories
  • Design, prototype and deliver dashboards using the appropriate BI tool and deliver functionality using the approval systems
  • Design, develop and publish dashboards that exceed customer expectations
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external associates responsible for data sources; ensure timely dissemination of dashboards and management reporting
  • Create and maintain the least costly, most efficient infrastructure (i.e. server) set-up to maintain and quickly run dashboards; trouble shoot BI environment problems and keep the environments tuned for performance
  • Ensure development is in alignment with data architecture standards and COE Power BI standards
  • Advocate, share and promote transparency in development
  • Align to and support effective governance which delivers reports to support data driven decisions
  • Execute daily jobs – importing data from various admin systems into BI tool within stated operation SLAs
  • Produce program reports, including OMMs, etc. for presentation or leadership use
  • Develop documentation for troubleshooting and dashboard production and keep it up to date
  • Continually drive transformation
  • Bringing a fresh perspective – out of the box insights to deliver value added solutions in a dynamic business environment
  • Effectively prioritize troubleshoot and resolve critical issues; engaging the right partners to deliver a solution in the timeframe needed
  • Proven success delivering on goals within varying project team sizes


Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 4+ years in the following:

    • Delivering reporting solutions in a Business Intelligence tool
    • Expert level of knowledge in Microsoft Power BI development software
    • Knowledge of architecture the environments business intelligence tools reside in, data storage rules
  • Proven success delivering on goals within varying project team sizes
  • Business analysis skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration (with experience developing Power BI dashboards)
  • Successfully delivering projects using agile approach and tools (e.g. Kanban Board or JIRA)

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Life, Annuity and LTC business processes and business metrics
  • Knowledge of project development life cycle and project metrics
  • Experience quickly delivering business value, in a frequently changing, complex environment
