An experienced Mechanical Engineer is needed in the Air Dominance and Strike Weapons Line of Business (LOB) to lead the Airframe and Energetics Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts involving engineering development and transition to production activities.

Candidate will need to envision/execute highly innovative approaches to resolve difficult technical, design and/or production issues. Must be able to work in a collaborative environment. The candidate should have experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T, hardware fabrication, installation, and assembly techniques, tolerance analysis, in addition to experience with missile integration and test.

The candidate is will be working with with the customer and suppliers.

Candidate should be experienced in the use of ProE/CREO or Catia V5, Windchill PLM with experience with mechanical design.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an active DoD Secret Clearance. Must be SAP clearable.

  • Experience with System Requirements Analysis / Flow down

  • Experience with Integration & Test, including fabrication, build, assembly to demonstrate qualification testing of the tactical hardware, software and firmware or their surrogates

  • Previous experience with missile design using ProE/CREO, alternatively Catia V5 (or similar toolset)

  • Previous experience with Change Requests (CRs) and Change Notices (CNs)

  • Experience with Windchill and/or Agile PLM

  • Experience working with production planning, production operations and Global Supply chain

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Integrated Product Team Leadership of greater than 20 engineers, Mechanical Leadership, customer interaction, and Cost Account Management of at least one activity valued greater than $20M on an Engineering development program

  • Bachelors with 18yrs, or Masters with 11yrs, total experience (minimum)

  • Ability to support onsite at least 2days/week, or as needed by program


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with reviewing design for completeness, accuracy, soundness, fabrication, assembly, installation, and interface validity

  • Expertise in all areas of tolerance analysis

  • ASME Y14.5 GD&T proficient

  • Good oral, written communication and presentation skills.
