We have an Excellent opportunity available for an experienced Floral Buyer. This position will be primarily responsible for the source selection and procurement functions of the Perishable Floral Product Category.

The successful Buyer will be able to:
- Source, select, and purchase products at the most favorable price, quality, quantity and specification requirements.
- Maintain inventory levels and actively review stock to sales ratios
- Negotiate prices, delivery arrangements, discount & payment terms.
- Analyze and monitor market prices and economic conditions to anticipate consumer buying patterns.
- Plan and forecast for future product buys based on historical sales records/activity, recurring buys, and current inventory levels.
- Inspect products for quality and value. Minimize shrinkage/spoilage of product. Initiate credit process for returns or damages.
- Recommend mark-up rates, mark-down rates, and selling prices for product.
- Actively work with sales staff & management to determine customer buying needs, communicate delivery schedules, product availability, etc.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years Purchasing experience
- Floral experience/knowledge, preferred.
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of the fundamental principles of Purchasing
- Excellent comprehension, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
- Intermediate computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
