Operates a variety of heavy equipment, vehicles, and tooling utilized in construction and/or plant production activities.


Highly qualified candidates will have experience operating multiple pieces of equipment in related field. All candidates will be required to assist with other tasks related to concrete construction. This would be a great opportunity to cross train on multiple types of equipment. All prospective candidates should enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather, be open to working in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability provide excellent service to internal and external customers.

  • Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
  • Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly
  • Operate heavy equipment, including, but not limited to, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and other mobile equipment used in completion of construction projects and/or in support of production operations
  • Operate other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance tasks, including but not limited to as greasing and checking oil and fluids
  • Drive company vehicles to worksites and company locations when authorized
  • Operate an assortment of trucks hauling equipment and materials to and from jobs

Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and valid medical card required; candidates may be considered based on ability to obtain licensing
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in operation of heavy equipment operation preferred
  • Prior experience in construction or similar industry a plus
  • Valid drivers’ license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
  • Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
  • Regularly required to work from a seated position operating equipment for long periods
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
  • Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
  • Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock
