Weight Loss Specialist – Nutrisystem, Inc. – Pittsburgh, PA


Position Summary:

This Sales position is responsible for handling both inbound and outbound calls to sell our products to qualified leads in a highly competitive call center environment. Must be able to generate new sales and retain existing customers through encouragement and exceptional service to achieve weight loss goals. Conduct engaging conversations over the phone to quickly identify customer needs, draw out concerns and use persuasive skills to close sales. Drive buying decisions by creating an emotional engagement, demonstrating listening skills and the ability to navigate back to an area of opportunity when the answer is no. Motivate customers to continue with their weight loss program. Apply functional technical skills to navigate multiple systems independently and efficiently while communicating through online messaging systems.

This role will support new and existing customers achieve weight loss goals via inbound and outbound calls ranging between 30-50 per day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or management. In the event of absence, duties for this position will be overseen by the position to which it reports.

  • Answer incoming calls to sell the Nutrisystem weight loss or transition programs to qualified leads or retain those who wish to cancel their program.
  • Demonstrate acute listening or attentiveness to build rapport and identify customer need, then recommend suitable program for weight loss or maintenance
  • Drive buying decisions by creating an emotional engagement and navigate back to an area of opportunity when the answer is no
  • Conduct engaging conversations, draw out concerns and use persuasive skills to close sales
  • Retain customers with appropriate counseling advice or offers to encourage program continuation
  • Generate leads for follow up and potential future sales from non converted sales calls
  • Make outbound calls to convert leads into sales when inbound call volume permits
  • Be considerate of weight loss challenges faced by callers or program participants and use good judgment when handling sensitive information
  • Maintain positivity and effectiveness when handling different call types or responsibilities
  • Handle all interaction with courtesy and respect to guarantee exceptional service while supporting company values and policies
  • Meet or exceed all monthly defined targets or quotas as issued by supervisors or director. Metrics include but are not limited to sales conversion, revenue, upsell, lead acquisition, save & ship rates, quality etc.
  • Metrics are evaluated throughout the year reflective of our business
  • Disclose all applicable terms, conditions or medical guidelines for program participation or cancellations
  • Be an advocate of Nutrisystem and the customer by doing what is best for both parties
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or management

Qualifications (include Education and specific Experience):

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; some college courses preferred
  • Ideal candidate will possess 1+ years in a high-volume sales role. This role is very trainable; we are open to all customer focused experience
  • Ability to multitask, i.e. carry on a phone conversation, navigate multiple computer applications & make notes
  • Ability to overcome customer objections, identify problems and resolve concerns
  • Ability to resolve problems, maintain efficiency & work independently for extended periods without coworker interactions or supervision, if necessary
  • Accept accountability for performance, demonstrate openness for coaching and willingness to learn
  • Always maintain virtual professionalism; appropriately adjusts conduct and activities to changing conditions
  • Demonstrate digital proficiency; Tech-capable competencies to navigate remote working tools
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet all KPIs; Metrics will be measured on a monthly basis and reviewed directly with your Leader
  • Drive buying decisions by creating an emotional engagement, demonstrating listening skills and the ability to navigate back to an area of opportunity when the answer is no
  • Exhibit self-motivation, discipline, coachability and initiative for success
  • Govern behavior and activities, exercise control of emotions and maintain consistent focus in daily responsibilities
  • Maintain excellent quality standards for all calls, remain compliant with all information, Ex: Medical guidelines, payment terms, product disclosures, cancellation requests, save activities

  • Possess an engaging personality with the ability to paint a picture for the customer
