VP Strategic Finance

The Corporate Strategy Lead is responsible for (1) developing a strategic planning framework to help instill strategic planning discipline across the company, (2) using this framework, help set the strategic direction by synthesizing Kapitus’s strategic priorities, Kapitus’s competitive posture, competitor positioning, and industry and market dynamics, and (3) overseeing and driving implementation of corporate strategy and key departmental initiatives. The Corporate Strategy Lead will establish strong partnerships with department heads to ensure alignment across the organization.

  • Evaluate new markets, technologies, and business models with analytical rigor
  • Develop evidence-based recommendations and facilitate discussions at executive leadership and Board level for decision making about Kapitus’s strategic direction and long-term growth opportunities
  • Stay current on industry and competitor trends as well as emerging threats and opportunities
  • In collaboration with the VP Strategic Finance, lead the annual goal-setting strategic planning process to set company-wide objectives and growth roadmaps
  • Partner with business unit leaders to set department-level objectives in place to measure performance and progress towards strategic goal
  • Serve as a thought partner for the Finance organization primarily and across Kapitus generally, facilitate working team meetings, identify, and help to mitigate risks and issues, develop content, and ensure implementation stays on track
  • Bring customer empathy and product focus to long-term vision for the company
  • Support due diligence efforts and manage integration with key partners
  • Additional responsibilities as requested by management
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Finance, or Economics, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in a comparable role; at least 2 years in a strategic role (e.g., management consulting, product management, corporate development, etc.)
  • Mentoring experience building out and leading a team as manager
  • Experience working with leadership in collaborative manner with ability to effectively interact and earn trust across the organization
  • Prior experience at fast-growing start-ups; comfort or knowledge of working in Agile
  • Ability to use data effectively, analyze results, and facilitate presentations
  • Outstanding critical thinking, analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Commercial mindset with ability to size markets and opportunities
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) including experience in developing C-suite presentations; Fluency in English required
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • Strong conceptual problem solving and influencing skills
  • Ability to build relationships and influence others across all levels
  • Interest & knowledge in fintech and/or lending space
