A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COLOR LAB TECHNICIAN

The Color Lab Technician is responsible for working closely with the design, quality control, and production departments to ensure a quality product from new concepts to the final product. The ideal candidate must be a creative problem solver, detail oriented, and be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. A scientific background is preferred with some knowledge of chemistry and math.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Test scented waxes for quality & performance
  • Assist in making aesthetic samples for buyers
  • Assist various departments in sample acquisition for new product lines
  • Assist quality department in keeping SDS database up-to-date
  • Create & design new products; Assist in developing colors for new fragrances
  • Track & manage colors for all wax products throughout the design & manufacturing process
  • Assist in keeping track of fragrances needed for testing in the color lab
  • Accurately enter product inventory & records into database in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot production issues as they arise; Keep track of & make dyes for production processes
  • Report all safety concerns to Manager immediately
  • Standing, bending, twisting, pushing & pulling repeatedly throughout a work shift
  • Physically able to actively participate in a fast-paced environment daily
  • Keep work area clean & uncluttered
  • Safety glasses, lab coats, & gloves required when working the color lab
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by Manager

  • Must have a good sense of color vision/ability to differentiate color

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, PROGRAM KNOWLEDGE):

  • Knowledge of scientific processes & experience using scientific equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel & ability to use web-based applications


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree in a scientific field or technical expertise working in a lab setting
  • Experience working with waxes, fragrances, &/or dyes a plus


ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a pre-employment drug test.

WORK SCHEDULE

This a full-time position that typically works Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm.
