We are looking for an energetic and creative self-starter to join our HR Organization supporting R&D, Commercial Finance and legal functions.

The HR Business Partner, will provide HR support to clients across several functions and will also support projects and key initiatives in support of the organizations on scope. The HRBP coaches the leader and his/her leadership team and provides expertise in the development & support of the organizational talent and diversity strategy, talent management, workforce planning, organizational design, restructuring, change management, leader effectiveness, performance management, compensation and rewards, and labor & employee relations issues.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR support to leaders in the R&D, Commercial Finance and Legal space located in US but also potentially outside US and with a global scope.

  • Create and drive the talent and diversity strategy and initiatives for the assigned organization.

  • Provide Employee Relations advice and consult to managers on items such as performance management/improvement, issue/conflict resolution, policy, procedure, law and standards education.

  • Provide Labor Relations advice and consult to managers and union officials including contract interpretation expertise to management, assisting management with investigating, answering, and resolving grievances and providing labor relations support in preparation for and during contract negotiations.

  • Track monthly operational view of client groups through data sources such as budget, headcount, attrition, market demographic etc.

  • Support HR programs, processes and projects to ensure they are planned, executed and supported efficiently, as well as correctly communicated.

  • Develop analytics to integrate data driven insights into how we run the clients and increase the level of data driven insights.

  • Proactively manage the HR calendar including talent review, promotions, performance and succession planning.

  • Actively manage the talent repository for the clients we support. Set up processes and database to effectively drive talent development and enable movement.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support local in-market GTA activities.

  • Coach leaders and members of leadership team(s) to successfully manage all cyclical people management processes (talent management, succession planning, performance management, compensation planning, etc.).

  • Support all talent management, organizational design, and organizational alignment activities within client group(s). Contribute to organizational change management activities when necessary, including client restructuring activities when necessary.

  • Provide consult on Compensation & Benefit strategy & execution to client’s groups, which may include competitive benchmarking, pension program support, benefit enrollment, local vendor management.

  • Work closely with the HR leadership team and COEs to facilitate implementation and realization of plans across for the assigned organizations.

  • Partner with Learning & Development group for advising in learning strategies and solutions to support and enable talent strategy.

  • Provide leadership and project management to critical HR initiatives across the R&D, Commercial Finance and Legal space as needed.

  • Collaborate across the HR network and with other stakeholders across the organization to resolve escalated issues and generate solutions to enable client’s business strategy.

Education Minimum Requirements:


Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner, within an HR COE, or HR Operations role (with Masters’ degree , minimum experience is 2 years).

  • Experience providing consultation on Labor and Employee Relations issues including laws, policies, procedures and standards.

  • Strong project management and analytic skills.

  • Demonstrated HR functional competence in one or more HR disciplines.

  • Experience navigating and leveraging HR systems and data analytics to support client consultation.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, consult with and coach managers.

  • Ability to strategically prioritize time and problem solve against most impactful activities and initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to demonstrate and foster collaboration among peers and extended HR organization.


Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in organization development such as organization design, change management, workforce planning.

  • Knowledge of employment legal practices and policies in US market.

  • Previous HR Business Partner experience supporting R&D clients.
