Executive Director, HRBP Travel Retail Worldwide – The Estée Lauder Companies – New York, NY

The Executive Director, Human Resources Business Partner for Travel Retail Worldwide will lead the development and implementation of the Human Resources strategy for Travel Retail Worldwide/NY team and provide strategic counsel and consultative partnership to leaders to drive growth and evolution. This Human Resources Business Partner will enable teams to tackle organizational challenges and build a strong talent planning. The person in this role will be accountable for the execution of people strategies and alignment with ELC Global HR vision and should infuse business-driven perspective into broader people strategies and centers of excellence.

Should possess an action-oriented management style to plan and implement projects in a fast pace environment, making decisions with a sense of urgency. Able to strategize and drive flawless execution.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide subject matter expertise, advice, and guidance on employees and HR needs to TR WW business leaders, in strong partnership with HR Centers of Excellence (COE). Requires expertise in such disciplines as: employee relations, compensation, learning, workforce planning & analytics (staffing), capability building, organizational design, and change management.
  • Partner/lead staffing, succession, development, learning and global mobility activities as required by the Travel Retail Worldwide business strategy in conjunction with HR COE’s and policies.
  • Define and implement the Travel Retail Worldwide/NY HR strategy based upon the Travel Retail R business and Global HR strategies; use analytic insights, HR demographics, trend analysis, engagement tools, and deep understanding of the business to craft and deliver the strategy.
  • Ensure talent strategies to attract, develop and retain the best talent; ensure succession plans for key roles and new capabilities built. Build relationships and identify key internal and external talent to engage the bench for key leadership roles.
  • Pro-actively ensure appropriate global grades, total rewards and retention strategies are in place
  • Enhance organization design and organizational effectiveness for the future, deploying continuous improvement including process improvement to increase productivity

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of senior level human resources business experience, with at least five years of direct partnership with a business to drive measurable results.
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen, operational skills, and successful partnership with line operations.
  • Deep generalist and HR business partner experience is critical for success, with exposure to all core functions within the discipline and with increasing scope.
  • Significant transformation and change management work is required.
  • Skilled in navigating highly complex organizations and the ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity, and strategically promote an inclusive/diverse workforce.
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational, and change agent skills.
  • Experience in a global environment with cultural sensitivity is ideal.
