Position Overview

The Vice President, Finance, Strategy & Development will be based in Atlanta and work as a member of the Strategy & Development team of Americas Materials (AMAT). In this capacity, the VP, Finance will partner with the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Development, division presidents, company presidents and other members of the senior leadership team across AMAT to provide accounting and finance support on various acquisition and divestiture projects.


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Key responsibilities of the position include:


  • Lead the financial due diligence processes on acquisitions and divestitures
  • Assist in the analysis of multiple markets and strategic acquisition opportunities
  • Build analytical models and perform financial analysis to value acquisition opportunities
  • Provide clear accounting explanations and make well-founded recommendations to executive leadership concerning the financial soundness of prospective acquisitions
  • Partner with the other divisional VPs of Development and the CRH Development Group to coordinate and align M&A processes and facilitate the acquisition valuation process
  • Provide financial leadership and support for post-closing activities such as plant, mobile equipment, land and reserves valuations, opening balance sheet accounts, inventory adjustments construction work-in-process true-ups, and appropriate accounting structures
  • Ensure compliance with AMAT and CRH accounting policies throughout the acquisition/divestiture process
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education/Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree required (accounting or finance)
  • CPA beneficial
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience including a combination of accounting and general management experiences, plus acquisition and integration support
  • 5 years of industry experience is a significant benefit

Work Requirements


  • Must have expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Must be able to able to work under time constraints and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Travel approximately 40% with brief periods to 80%
