Technical Apps Specialist IV – Emory – Atlanta, GA

JOB DESCRIPTION: Uses technical skills and provides guidance and direction in the development, implementation and maintenance fo complex production information systems. Leads and conducts research in automation techniques to improve application performance, efficiency, and testing. Determines and directs testing methodologies and techniques. Adheres to internal controls and standards established for department. Provides leadership in isolating and solving problems within application systems, interfaces, and middleware infrastructure. Will act as a mentor and provide leadership to all levels of Technical Application Specialist. Plans and coordinates programming projects within a particular work group. Provides production support in a 7 X 24 Tier 1 environment. Must be able to lead, engage and mentor others to achieve a very high level of application systems availability and integration. Assists and advises subordinate personnel in the solution of highly technical and complex problems and solutions. Functions as a senior programming consultant in advanced computer technology and architecture. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management or related field. Seven years of application systems/administration experience OR nine years experience without a degree. Must be proficient in at least three computer languages used currently in production. Must be able to lead problem solving efforts when mission critical systems are interrupted.
