First Aid Room Attendant – Angel Fire Resort – Angel Fire, NM

Applicants must possess strong customer service skills, in person as well as over the phone, be able to communicate effectively, and be able to maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment. This position includes ensuring accurate inventory of supplies is maintained, ensuring accurate completion of all paperwork, working as member of an emergency medical team, assisting with special projects, and representing the resort as a whole.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides medical attention to injured/sick guest according to policies and procedures established by the Resort, Medical Control Director, National Ski Patrol, and the New Mexico State Emergency Services Bureau.
  • Maintains adequately stocked medical supply locker and maintains inventory of medical supplies.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the FA1 facility – which includes scrubbing toilets, disinfecting surfaces, processing laundry, sweeping and mopping floors, washing windows, making beds, etc.
  • Completes reports as necessary in an accurate, thorough and timely manner.
  • Assists patrollers in accident investigation (i.e.; interviewing witnesses).
  • Commits to locate next of kin for injured patients, coordinates messages for Lift message boards, facilitates landline communications, arranges, and helps determine transport needs.
  • Consults with Patrol Director or Medical Control Director when protocol questions arise.
  • Communicates (via phone, radio, and in-person) with ambulance, hospital, Summit Dispatch, takes phone messages, and controls usage.
  • Follows radio protocol/etiquette at all times.
  • Provides exceptional guest service at all times.
  • Maintains an EMS activation log.
  • Commits to follow all confidentiality regulations and guidelines as set forth by HIPPA.
  • Enters Incident Reports into tracking software.
  • Responds to injured or sick guests located in the base area as necessary.
  • Fills oxygen tanks for patrollers.
  • Works closely with ultiMED staff to the efficient transfer of patients from FA-1 to ultiMED.
  • Explains to patients the difference between FA-1 and ultiMED and explains to each patient their options for medical treatment.
  • Adheres to the Angel Fire Resort Safety Manual, Employee Hand Book, and Ski Patrol Manual.
  • Maintains radio communications with other staff to coordinate activities and achieve a high level of teamwork and efficiency.
  • Attends all required training.
  • Maintains a high level of respect for resort property, including tools, spaces, vehicles, resources, and facilities.
  • Works with a sense of urgency and completes tasks in a timely manner.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and three to six months related experience and/or training.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays, dayshifts and evening shifts, as required by the nature of the resort business.
  • The ability to work with people in a cheerful, courteous manner.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid and current driver’s license, insurable under company policy.
  • Valid and current NM or National Registry EMT License (Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic), OEC certification, or registered nurse.
  • Valid and current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Schedule: Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Estimated Start Date: Early December

Pay: Starting at $14 per hour
