Responsibilities:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner / Respiratory Therapist / RCP is responsible for:

  • Performing routine therapy, diagnostic and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures for patients

  • Maintaining all equipment in working order

  • Providing phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing for the patient population as required

  • Having knowledge of all modalities of respiratory care
  • Having the ability to interact well and provide instruction and information, both orally and in written form to patients, family and staff

Qualifications:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner / Respiratory Therapist / RCP must:

  • Be certified to practice respiratory care by the Department of Health for the state in which the facility is located

  • Possess and maintain current ACLS and CPR certifications

  • Have at least one year of experience in mechanical ventilatory support, EKG performance, ABG puncture and analysis

  • Experience in critical care preferred
