Design Engineer – Digested Organics – Plymouth, MI

Digested Organics is a growing technology company that manufactures and operates filtration and organic waste treatment systems based in Plymouth, MI. We build cutting-edge filtration solutions which enable our customers to convert organic wastes into clean water, concentrated co-products, and when possible, renewable energy.

The Job

We are looking for a Design Engineer with experience in the design of process plants, ideally with experience of designing filtration systems.

Responsibilities

• Drawing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AUTOCAD.

• 3D Mechanical Design using Autodesk INVENTOR and production of shop drawings for both the in-house manufacturing team and external suppliers.

• Manage the mechanical Bill of Materials (BOM) for multiple projects and assist the project managers with procurement.

• Assist with design of facility layouts including process piping runs and power and instrumentation routing for complex process plants.

• Other duties and projects, as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in either mechanical or chemical engineering with a minimum of three years post-graduation experience using both AUTOCAD and INVENTOR, ideally for the design of process plants.

• Sound engineering judgment and hands-on experience of working with engineering and production teams to resolve issues.

• An independent, self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.

• A willingness to learn and develop new skills.

• Excellent time management skills with the willingness to go the extra mile in order to ensure that deadlines are met.

• A professional demeanor: an individual who will represent the company in the appropriate manner.

Salary and Benefits

• $65,000 – $85,000 annual salary depending on experience
