Retail Manager 1 – Sodexo – Powell, WY

Unit Description:

As our Retail Manager, you will have oversight of Starbucks We Proudly Serve, and assist with other food preparation and catering as needed. We are looking for an innovative leader who is comfortable with technology advances and learning new retail programs.


The successful candidate will:

  • Partner with department staff to establish strategic plans and long-term goals for all retail operations
  • Identify areas of opportunity for operational process improvement. Design solutions that solve operational problems or improve current processes
  • Serve as the voice of retail operations and share expertise with others
  • Pro-actively plan to ensure alignment and resource availability for retail initiatives
  • Ensure company food and physical safety programs and standards are followed
  • Lead, coach and develop direct and indirect reports
  • Empower team members with accountability and ownership
  • Achieve success through developing professional skills in others
  • Conduct retail brand standard audits (in-house and national brands)
  • Maintain integrity of retail branded concept standards (national and in-house brands)
  • Manage the opening and closing the operation as well daily retail food service operations
  • Maintain all product merchandising, marketing and ordering standards are in place
  • Ensure all needed signage (including digital) is in place
  • Manage vendor relationships and compliance
  • Provide clarity around priorities and goals
  • Identify and resolve conflicting priorities
  • Provide stellar customer service
  • Oversee implementation of new technology systems (mobile ordering) programming and maintenance
  • Train and develop frontline hourly staff to prepare them for promotion

Position Summary:

Maintains food quality and customer service in a cash handling retail food operation that includes branded concepts, in-house formats and signature designs. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/HR functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.
