Psychotherapist
Langniappe Therapy is a remote group practice, dedicated to creating a culturally diverse team of mental health professionals, committed to supporting the mental health of individuals, couples and families . We are building a team of dynamic clinicians who value working with the whole person to improve the mental health and wellness of each person who uses our services.
We are hiring therapists who are able to work remotely via a video conferencing platform with clients.
The therapist will provide remote outpatient therapy . Clinical therapy services include treatment of adults and couples.
Treatment specialties may include: acute stress, trauma, family violence, LGBTQ, mood disorders, anxiety, medical issues, life stages, grief, etc.

Reports to: Owner and/or Clinical Director.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:

§ Master’s Degree in counseling or social work

§ Active, unrestricted license ( LCSW, LMFT or LCPC) in the State of
California (must be fully licensed). A copy must be provided to
Langniappe Therapy

§ Available to hold 10-20 patient sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Langniappe Therapy

Able to work in a culturally competent, affirming way with clients as well as understand and work with the impact of historical social injustice/ oppression, racism, homophobia, sexism etc.

Other Qualification Preferences:

§ Prior experience providing mental health counseling.

§ At least two years’ experience post-unrestricted licensure.

§ Willingness to credential with at least 1 insurance company.

§ An understanding of specific populations are affected by various forms of oppression and an ability to work with such issues

§ Ability to provide culturally affirming therapy to clients from various ethnic and racial backgrounds

§ Must have CAQH and NPI number and adequate amounts for current liability insurance

Hours:

Therapist will be available to hold at least 10 but preferably 20 patient sessions per week.

Under the new California AB5 Law, therapists in California must work as employees and not as independent contractors.

Therapist may set their own hours providing that this is consistent with client needs. Therapist must have private, appropriate space for tele-health sessions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide clinical/psychotherapy services to patients as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.

2. Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to sessions is required.

3. Be properly /currently licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Langniappe.

4. Respond to patients’ requests for service or calls within 24 -48 hours

5. Timely completion of written records for each patient including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to- time by Langniappe or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within a timely fashion (by Friday of each week). Keep patient files accurate and up to date.

6. Ability to use or learn electronic health records (EHR) platform.

7. Conduct counseling services in a professional manner .

Remote Therapy
o Must have an appropriate location where remote therapy can be provided in a confidential manner consistent with the values and ethics for tele-therapy

o Must have access to a private, up to date laptop, wifi, internet. Must have a reliable mobile phone used only by you

Compensation: $80/session/hr
