As the Merchant for Global Women’s Tops, you will manage the daily execution and partnering with the Director to drive the overall strategy for assigned global product category. You will report to the Director Merchandising, Levi’s® Global Women’s Tops.

  • Create assortment strategy based on analysis of both our internal and competitor marketplace while considering global and local requirements. Provide assortments following the brand’s look and feel and achieve financial targets.
  • Partner with Director to create a consumer-focused global product vision. Influence internal and external partner’s around strategic vision. Monitor and share competitor trends including strategies for different markets.
  • Engage and partner with regional merchandising teams to ensure agreement and understanding of merchandising recommendations and develop insights into the local markets.
  • Guide global strategy as outlined by Director and provide metrics for respective category.
  • Participate and present in the monthly and quarterly business review meetings and update Design & PD partners on product sales.
  • Partner with the regional merchandising team to develop a compelling and consistent global product offering for a category or segment, aligned with big ideas of the brand. Interpret and incorporate regional brief requirements in developing a global brief to the licensee partner.
  • Be a hands-on team member and have the ability to work on the systems & processes . Oversee product data integrity in merchant systems and processes .
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred
  • 3+ years direct merchandising experience working at an apparel manufacturer, retailer or marketer
  • Knowledge of merchandising and design trends in the global marketplace. Understanding of regions market share ad opportunity to grow. Ability to apply that knowledge, connect the dots and create product ideas that win in the marketplace.
  • Knowledge of garment design and construction
  • Knowledge of cost of goods
  • Strong interpersonal skills (communication, presentation, and negotiation)
  • Can train others
