Lead, Marketing and Sales – Baylor College of Medicine – Houston, TX

Provide a leadership role in assisting in the conception and execution of visual communications and marketing collateral material for Baylor College of Medicine’s Clinical Healthcare mission. Integral leadership member acting as a bridge between the Marketing and Graphic Communications team and the institution’s various clinical practice areas, institutes and care centers. As Lead, you reinforce the integrity of the Baylor College of Medicine brand by assisting the marketing team in adhering to and implementing established guidelines and procedures. Inform decision-making that promotes brand standards and positions the Baylor brand as a leader in the field of academic medicine and consumer health care.

Leads the research and developmenent of various marketing strategies for products and services. Implements marketing plans and works to meet sales quotas. Tracks marketing and sales data and identifies areas of improvement.

  • Leads the marketing team in marketing and digital media outreach.
  • Works closely with the AVP of Marketing in leading the strategic development of clinical marketing plans for departments, centers and clinics.
  • Works as a bridge between the Marketing and Graphic Communications teams and the institution’s various clinical practice areas, institutes and care centers.
  • Informs decision-making that promotes brand standards and positions the Baylor brand as a leader in the field of academic medicine and consumer health care.
  • Oversees writing of health care copy for the website, working closely with team members.
  • Writes healthcare copy for the website.
  • Meets with department chairs, section leaders and clinic leaders on marketing issues and strategies.
  • Meets regularly with the AVP of Marketing to update plans, projects and issues concerning the clinical marketing team.
  • Oversees clinical marketing budget with input from the AVP of marketing.
  • Negotiates with media, including digital media companies, on purchasing ad space.
  • Develops content and gathers assets as needed.
  • Helps drive market growth of new and existing adult clinical patient services.
  • Meets with prospective clients on a regular basis to introduce the services offered by Marketing and Graphic Communications.
  • Works closely with colleagues across the Office of Communications and Community Outreach to assure a coordinated effort.
  • Stays up-to-date on marketing trends and competitor’s marketing activities in and around Houston and nationwide.
  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience Required: Six years of relevant experience. Degrees in lieu of experience will not be accepted.
