Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) for the Rutgers Community Health Center within the Rutgers, School of Nursing. Under the direction of the Interim CEO of Rutgers Community Health Center, the Advanced Practice Nurse is a credentialed nurse and serves as a primary care provider and a leader. As a member of the care delivery team the APN will manage the total health care needs of a population. This individual will collaborate with APN colleagues, physicians, and other members of the care delivery team. The APN will mentor and oversee the practice of nursing staff in the center.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Serves as a mentor and role model for other members of the health care delivery team.
  • Performs history and physical examination. Documents findings in the medical record.
  • Provides patient education to meet the needs of the patient/family.
  • Interfaces with families to obtain and provide information concerning patient’s medical care and progress.
  • Participates in the mentoring and perception of student learners.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.50 – $31.50 per hour
