Position Overview

Summary

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director or designee, this position works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children, youth and families served. This position is responsible for leading state wide recruitment and the development and retention of quality foster homes, ensuring licensed homes meet or exceed community and organizational needs. Provides mentoring and support to supervisory, management and licensing employees within the regions.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Assess growth orientated, catchment area specific needs to support regions in achieving/exceeding established census targets.
  • Develops, implements and leads recruitment strategies and campaigns that generate the quantity and quality of licensed foster homes in alignment with annual census targets.
  • Lead regional teams in the development of potential and existing foster parents in understanding the needs of the youth entering foster care, the expectation of mentoring primary families and the goal of reunification of youth with the primary family.
  • Work with current, former, and prospective foster parents to recruit new foster families.
  • Responsible for the knowledge and implementation of all rules, regulations, and policies related to foster care.
  • As requested, meet with foster parents experiencing difficulty in the fostering process to remove barriers.
  • Support foster parents including providing information, education, meetings, support groups, and one on one discussions.
  • Collaborates with regional and national employees.
  • Prepares monthly and annual reports detailing progress on licensing goals to targets.
  • Actively participates in the regular supervision process as scheduled.
  • Report incidents to state and supervisory agencies when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelors’ degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution, Master’s preferred.
  • 5 years of work experience working in direct service with youth and families required.
  • A valid professional license as required and acceptable by state or contract regulations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
  • A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
