Medical Revenue Cycle Data Analyst T-H position Chicago Loop

Our client (UI Health Physician Group) has an immediate staffing need for an experienced temp-to hire full-time Medical Revenue Cycle Data Analyst which reports to the Director of Billing and Collections. This position M-F (8:00am to 4:30pm).  This is an on-site position at their office in the central Chicago Loop.  Excellent pay for this position.

Summary:  The primary function of this position is to support the reporting and analytical needs of the revenue cycle leaders in revenue management and empowering users with data across the organization. Generates scheduled and ad-hoc reports working closely with stakeholders from different functional areas including but not limited to billing, denials management, insurance accounts receivables and self-pay management. Develop strategy for various business functions/areas based on data collection, manipulation, and analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mine data from various sources and reorganize it in a useful format readable by either human, machine and/or reorganizing the data into specific formats needed for Payer projects. 
  • Prepare reports for executives that communicate trends, patterns, using relevant data.
  • Collaborate with programmers and operational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend system modifications.
  • Create documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary.
  • Creating reporting templates in various systems (i.e., EPIC reporting workbench, SlicerDicer)

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of collections, healthcare terminology and office procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of CMS 1500 claims, CPT Codes, ICD-10 and HCPCS Codes.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify/resolve problems and document the outcome.
  • Strong concise, clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills – ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Solid, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Establish effective working relationships with employees, patients and external vendors.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications: Word and Excel.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in business analysis with revenue cycle functions; experience in healthcare financial analysis, revenue cycle processes, denials strongly desired.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving, analytical, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
  • Working knowledge of EPIC software is required.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent computer skills and experience in using analytics and BI tools
