Summary:
Our mission in the Global Services (GS) Portfolio & Process Management (PPM) team is to drive transformation and transparency through expert implementation of our governance process, portfolio, and project delivery to create value for Global Services!

The Global Services Project Manager, North America is a key role within our organization and is responsible for leading Global Services projects within the region, following the standard project management framework and processes of PPM.

This will entail managing any project assigned in its entirety, from project case development, solution design, planning, execution through go-live and supporting until operations are stable prior to project closure. Projects may cover, but are not limited to, transformations, local or country planning and migrations, work transitions into / out of the region/GS organization, process changes, and system changes, for a function or across functions.

In this role, the resource will be expected to build positive relationships and to effectively partner with functional leaders and various support teams within or outside of GS in delivering the aligned project objectives.

We are looking for a person who has the passion to lead change, who has a strong background in project management, and a proven track record of project delivery, is customer-centric, has excellent communication & presentation skills, and is adept in working within a multi-cultural shared services matrix organization with cross-functional and cross-regional stakeholders.

The position will report into the Director Global Projects Management

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects (as assigned) from planning, execution, reporting, monitoring through stabilization and closure within the region.
  • Drive project management activities including solution design proposal, budget development, value case assessment, organization design approvals, process documentation, knowledge transfer, testing, cut-over activities, developing project-related communications and plans.
  • Deliver accurate reporting of project status, covering key milestones, resource capacity, and financial health.
  • Perform project risk assessments, develop contingency plans, and recommend mitigations, as needed.
  • Look for process improvement opportunities including project team engagement, project delivery, reporting, communications and leveraging lessons learned.
  • Build strong partnerships with functional and enabling support organizational leaders to understand potential demand for PPM, and areas of opportunities and for improvement.
  • Partner with J&J GS Service Delivery teams, customers, supporting teams to understand, plan and execute transition activities internal and or external to J&J Global Services.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication channel with J&J GS site and functional leaders by summarizing and reporting on project updates, risk and issues.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to team members as required to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee selection, interview, hiring, and onboarding process for project management resources as required.
  • Manage and motivate project team members to deliver project objectives by regularly assessing resource needs, removing barriers to success, and providing constructive feedback when needed.
  • Provide project management leadership and expertise, and support initiatives in PPM to develop a comprehensive and sustainable portfolio and project management strategy and set of practices.
  • Develop staff capability, knowledge, skills and understanding of the region, country, or function by organizing and participating in knowledge sharing activities within the region or with global counterparts.
  • Possess command of project management/continuous improvement methodologies (i.e.; PMP, FPX, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, CBT, etc.)
  • Embrace and lead a culture of inclusiveness and multi-cultural engagement through coaching and feedback to peers and the broader community in Global Services in alignment with the J&J’s Leadership imperatives.
