Metro Physical Therapy has an immediate opening for a full-time Physical Therapist in our office located inside an Assisted Living in Smithtown. Due to the Nature of this position and it being in an assisted living facility weekly Covid test are required and by the end of May the Assisted living facility will require vaccination as well

Physical Therapist Requirements:
- Provide one-on-one treatment in an assisted living setting.
- Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
- Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
- Develop and guide plans of care which encourage compliance and produce the best results for your patients.
- Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Administer manual exercises, massage and/or traction to help relieve pain, increase the patient’s strength, and decrease or prevent deformity and crippling.
- Provide educational information about physical therapy and physical therapists, injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote health.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Weekly Mandatory COVID Testing.
- Physical Therapist Program Graduate.
- NY Physical Therapist License or eligible.
- Evaluates a patient’s need for physical therapy and develops an appropriate treatment plan.
- Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan, agency policy and professional standards of care.
- Instructs family members, PTA’s, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate physical therapy techniques.
- Coordinates physical therapy progress with other caregivers in appropriate physical therapy techniques.
