IT Desktop Support Technician – Data Device Corporation – Bohemia, NY

Background:

The primary function of this position is to support and improve the overall information technology operations of DDC. This includes maintaining and upgrading PCs and related equipment, installation and support of in-house applications, and timely support of end-users. The IT Desktop Support Technician will also be required to monitor the performance of the company’s desktop infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency. The position is essential to the Company’s success as it helps ensure functioning computer systems and increases the productivity of all employees.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

· Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.

· Commitment to the Company’s policies, principles, and procedures and adheres to the Company’s procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S), Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”), discipline/corrective action, and security.

· Primary point of contact for end-user support and troubleshooting (both internal and remote).

· Responsible for the deployment, upgrades, and repair of corporate computer equipment and associated devices.

· Manages the distribution and maintenance of various in-house and third-party applications.

· Oversees helpdesk ticketing system and manages daily operational tasks.

· Testing of new vendor products and technologies for use within existing company environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Comprehensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office products, and corporate software.

· Broad experience with desktop hardware including assembly, imaging solutions, backups, and patching.

· In-depth understanding of computer hardware, software and peripheral devices.

· Moderate understanding of various corporate software packages and document management systems.

· Able to prioritize tasks, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

· Capable of independently researching and implementing solutions to complex problems.

Educational / Experience Qualifications:

· Any combination of education, training and experience listed above that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

· 2-5 years relevant work experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:

· Individual Contributor.

Work Environment:

· This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

· Communicate – The person in this position frequently communicates with peers. Must be able to exchange efficiently in these situations.

· Lifting/moving – Must be able to properly move up to 50 pounds.

· Ascend/Descend from areas utilizing ladders and other devices.

Pay: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour
