Safety Coordinator – Downstream Casino Resort – Quapaw, OK

JOB SUMMARY:

The Risk Coordinator assists the Risk Manager on matters involving Tribal Worker’s Benefits, workplace Safety/Health, and Risk Management for all Casino properties. Further, the Risk Coordinator assists with the company’s strategic efforts in implementing programs and procedures for the purpose of reducing current risks in an effort to minimize future claims. Will assist with the risk management process and communicate with insurance brokers and insurance carriers on risk management issues including insurance maintenance and renewals when needed. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Downstream Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

· Assist with analyzing and investigating actual and potential risks to the safety of workers.

· Enter data into the database.

· Understand the Tribal Workers Benefits Process and file work comp claims.

· Assist Risk Manager in maintaining policies and procedures for all properties.

· Helps to maintain and enhance a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for guests and Team Members of the Downtown Casino Resort’s properties.

· Assists with programs that will, (1) minimize risk of injury to Team Members and guests, (2) reduce loss of company assets, and (3) comply with regulatory issues.

· Track supplies, update MSDS program documents as needed

· Keep all records filed & organized.

· Follow-up with departments after inspections to confirm that necessary changes were made.

· Assist in developing and coordinating training programs for gaming operation management and Team Members to enhance Risk Control Awareness and reduce loss.

· Conduct safety training as deemed by the Risk Manager. and must be available to conduct training during all shifts.

· Assist with monitoring compliance with applicable Tribal, federal and state code requirements.

· Assist with formal inspection program as designed by the Risk Manager.

· Assist with analyzing claims’ data and assist with preparing management summary reports for Downstream Casino Resort management.

· Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.

· Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

· Attend all Safety Committee meetings and take minutes.

· Assist in other projects, as directed by the Risk Manager

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.

· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science or related field.

· Prefer a minimum of two years of previous experience in a risk/safety type role.

· Must possess excellent communication skills.

· Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, team members and customers.

· Prefer prior training experience.

· Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and team members.

· Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

· Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Key license.

· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

· Must be able to work with highly confidential medical records without breaching privacy laws.

· Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

· Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

· Must be able to sit for extended periods working at a computer terminal.

The Downstream Casino Resort Adheres to all applicable Resolutions of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma. Native American Preference policy does apply.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour
