The Nursing Assistant provides individualized resident care and services following each resident’s assessment and care plan and as directed by his or her supervisor. He or she must be sensitive to the needs and desires of each resident and make an attempt to improve and enrich their lives. The ideal candidate has completed an approved Nursing Assistant certification training program, has completed CEP testing, and is listed “In Good Standing” on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry. Candidates must have a genuine desire to help others and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides quality direct resident care based on individual resident care plans (i.e., bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, etc.)
  • Performs all job duties in compliance with established standards, practices, policies, and procedures (i.e., infection control protocols, emergency procedures, body mechanics policies, facility polices and guidelines, etc.)
  • Observes and reports resident changes to immediate supervisor and maintains accurate documentation as related to care provided
  • Actively participates as a team member in the care planning process
  • Maintains residents’ rights (including confidentiality, respect, dignity, freedom from abuse, etc.)
  • Demonstrates safe work practices, which includes using all safe guards and safety equipment and following established safety rules, procedures, and policies
  • Demonstrates quality customer service that includes the promotion of teamwork and compliance with company policies, procedures, and programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have completed an approved Pennsylvania Nursing Assistant certification training program
  • Must be listed “In good standing” on the PA Nurse Aide registry
  • Must demonstrate competency in basic nursing skills (i.e., checking vital signs, measuring intake and output, body mechanics, personal hygiene, etc.)
  • Must have good problem solving skills, analytical ability, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and dexterity
  • Must be able to physically perform the duties of this position, as described in the Job Description
