A small, growing physical therapy practice located on the Upper East Side seeks an office manager.
Billing responsibilities include insurance verification, insurance billing, patient billing and collection, posting payments, and following up with insurance company on outstanding claims. Receptionist responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, some verifying insurance, collecting and recording payments, helping to maintain patient accounts, and some light clerical work.
The practice currently has one location employing 4 therapists. Pre-COVID, the practice had two locations, 6 therapists and 3 administrative staff (including the Office Manager). Once we get to pre-pandemic levels of volume and we add admin staff, the Office Manager’s position will include training and supervision of the other administrative staff.
Experience working in a physical therapy or chiropractic practice required, as is some experience working with electronic medical billing and scheduling. This position will require a candidate who is able to multitask, who has excellent organizational skills, and who is detail oriented–candidates without these skills are unlikely to pass the probation period. Also, must have excellent communication and customer service skills. We respect and value our patients, and we need administrative staff who feel the same way.
Salary based on experience. In hiring and salary, preference will be given to candidates with a college degree.
