Systems Engineer – Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. – New Brighton, MN

Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. is a behavioral health care organization committed to helping patients in our community who are experiencing personal, emotional, marriage, family or psychological problems.

We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our IT Department located at our New Brighton Office . This position will focus on leading and prioritizing multiple, concurrent projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. Proactively Manages and Monitors all systems and infrastructure to maintain availability and scalability throughout the environment. Works with other IT members on day-to-day support issues to assure resolution to systems problems in a timely manner.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Support

Maintains that the systems are operating, used properly, and are performing according to design

Maintains patch management for workstations and servers

Responsible for data backup and recovery

Responsible for troubleshooting OS and server software issues

Administers and supports physical servers, virtualized infrastructure, and storage systems

Uses Monitoring systems to identify data or performance issues

Installs, configures, and upgrades infrastructure systems and critical business applications

Knowledge of system scripting and able to automate system tasks

Must be available after hours when system issues arise until their resolution

Part of the IT on-call rotation

Infrastructure Design

Design and deploy technology solutions that meet the needs of our customers and follow industry standard practices

Leads deployment of infrastructure projects including hardware refreshes, technology shifts, azure workloads, virtualization, disaster recovery, and Office365 solutions

Responsible for evaluating and recommending technology solutions that meet the strategic needs of the business

Department Responsibilities

Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation around system configurations, and department policy and procedures

Responsible for strategies around backup, redundancy, and infrastructure security

Responsible for maintaining hardware inventory for internal systems

Responsible for maintaining software license compliance for the business

Works with multiple teams to resolve technical issues

Troubleshoots technical problems in logical manner and develops remediation steps to resolve problems.

Will perform root cause analysis to prevent repeat issues.

Will act as the liaison to vendors for the IT department and assure quick resolution is brought to issues

Mentoring other IT team members to help improve department processes

Strong team player

Completes other tasks and duties as assigned

Associate degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant system engineering experience in a mid to large size company. With at least 3 years senior level system engineering experience

Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Azure

Experience with backup and recovery technologies

Experience applying industry standard security policies to infrastructure

Experience with MFA and end point protection software

Working knowledge of server, storage, and network virtualization

Working knowledge of networking fundamentals

Advanced knowledge infrastructure hardware experience including storage and server technologies

Advance knowledge in Office 365 Administration, Teams, SharePoint, Azure workloads or other cloud equivalent, Active directory, Windows Server Standard and Enterprise, Microsoft SQL or equivalent database technologies, Vmware or equivalent virtualization technologies, DNS, DHCP, WINS, IIS, APACHE, MFA, Word Press

Hands on experience using the Azure Administration portal and moving on premise workloads to Azure or other cloud services

Preferred:
Office365 Administration Certification

Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certification

Knowledge of Linux Server operating system a plus
