Title: Front Desk Associate

Summary

Dental Front Desk Associate’s position includes scheduling, billing, verbal/written communication with patients, financial arrangement presentations, and ongoing daily interaction with the dentist, patients, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides superior patient service demonstrating responsiveness and sensitivity to patient needs with urgency to resolve any patient dissatisfaction in accordance with patient needs, company policies and procedures, government regulations and dental board standards.
  • Greet and check in patients in a friendly manner.
  • Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Prepare new patient charts neatly and accurately.
  • Responding to patient billing or financial inquiries, directing to appropriate departments, as necessary. Collect and post payments and record receipts.
  • Balance nightly deposits and complete credit card processing.
  • Executes patient consults to ensure patients understand Doctor prescribed treatment plans; conducts patient chart audits, performs handoffs, conducts consults according to company policies.
  • Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating Doctor using the company operational system, and follows-up with patients during subsequent visits to schedule open treatment.
  • Works with the Doctor and patient to ensure the patient completes the Doctor prescribed treatment plan.
  • Uncovers and removes the patient’s barriers for completing treatment.
  • Alerts the Doctor when the patient has clinical questions.
  • Educates the patient regarding insurance benefits and affordable payment options including third-party patient financing.
  • Follows-up with the patient during subsequent patient visits to review completed treatment and schedule appointments for open treatment.
  • Help determine ways to improve office efficiency and workflow, presenting these ideas to supervisors and helping to carry them out.

Capabilities/Skills

  • Knowledge of basic and advanced dental terminology and being comfortable with presenting dental information to patients.
  • Capable of handling the front desk of the dental office.
  • Excellent communication and customer/patient communication skills.
  • The ability to understand a diagnosis given by a dentist.
  • The ability to multitask. Very comfortable explaining benefits and collecting payments from non-covered services and fee for services patients.
  • Capable of working at a fast pace while having a strong attention to detail.
  • Capable of making 50+ phone calls per day, as well as seeing 30+ patients in office in a day.

Educations and Experience

  • High School degree or equivalent is required
  • Experience handling the front desk of a dental office is preferred.
  • Experience in a similar position is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge is required
  • Dental software experience is preferred
  • Experience in a sales environment preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 – $18.00 per hour
