Oregon Certified Medication Aide – Regency Redmond Rehabilitation and Nursing Center – Redmond, OR

Certified Medication Aide is responsible for personal services, medication assistance, delegated tasks and others tasks as needed for resident well-being.

  • Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper dosage and distribution of medication is accordance with state regulations.
  • Records information in the resident’s medical record and assists in the management of the medical record as needed.
  • Instructs residents in proper application/consumption of medication per the directions of the physician.
  • Takes vital signs and records on the proper document.
  • Reads the staff communication book and short-term monitor book every shift and notes any changes in resident conditions.
  • Reviews daily assignments with the designated supervisor and completes delegated tasks as assigned.
  • Follows incident reporting guidelines. Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
  • Complies with regulatory standards and OSHA guidelines (i.e. sharps compliance).
  • Observes problems, concerns, and issues with residents and escalates to RCM and/or Director of Nursing.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
  • Assists with the orientation of new staff members to job responsibilities.
  • Performs other tasks/duties as assigned.

  • Must have a current CMA certification in Oregon
  • Has compassion and special interest in working with the senior population.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations
  • Maintains CPR and/or First Aid Certification as required by State regulations.
  • Ability to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and assist coworkers
  • One year experience in working with older adults preferred
  • Meet in-service training hours required for job classification and position.

Kneel; stoop and squat are required occasionally. Stand six out of eight hours.
