OSP Engineering Associate (Structural Pole Loading)

Location: San Antonio, TX

Tower Engineering Professionals (Fiber Division) is seeking a full-time Engineering Associate for work in the San Antonio, TX market. As an Engineering Associate, you will serve as an integral member of our engineering team. OSP Engineering Associate (Structural Pole Loading) Responsibilities:

Development of civil/structural design documentation, plans, specifications, and custom drawings using AutoCAD.
Conduct site walks, field notes, and collect measurements as necessary.
Complete structural and clearance analyses on utility and light poles by procuring field data and using loading analysis software (SpidaCalc, O-Calc, etc) to determine structural integrity.
Submit pole attachment applications to utility asset owner when necessary.
Complete all permit documentation for respective projects by researching jurisdictional requirements,
submitting permit packages, and communicating with city officials as needed.
Responsible for all as-built changes and updates to drawings.
Ability to review and redline designs of co-workers to ensure quality across all projects.
Act as liaison to Company’s clients by regularly updating them on project status and attending client meetings as necessary.
Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Ability to travel as needed to complete field visits and/or meetings.

Ability to work in outdoor and indoor environments. Time to be split between field and office work.
Performing all duties in accordance with the Company’s core values.

OSP Engineering Associate (Structural Pole Loading) Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural/Construction, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Construction inspection experience preferred.
1-4 years of direct telecommunications experience preferred with emphasis on make ready engineering and pole loading
Must be able to understand civil engineering standards, requirements, projects proposed by other utilities or government municipalities.
Knowledge of telecommunications civil and structure design principles and processes preferred.
Excellent oral/written communication skills, strong organizational skills, high level of integrity, and strong team player.
Well-developed decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills, displaying the ability to provide a solution where none apparently exists.
Proficiency in the use of computer aided drafting software (AutoCAD Civil3D).
Proficiency in the use of structure loading analysis software (SpidaCalc, O-Calc, etc) preferred.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
Ability to work under severe time constraints and produce at a high level.
Ability to perform field visits, meet with developers, customers, and local agencies.
Proven track record and reputation for being a flexible, quick learner, and accurate worker with a high attention to detail and follow-up.
A valid driver’s license, including a clean driving record dating back 5 years.
