NRT BUS, INC was started in 1988 and currently has operations in Gardner, Bedford, Dracut, Haverhill, Hudson, Lowell, Lynn, Methuen, Newbury, North Reading, and Wakefield. NRT provides yellow bus transportation and other related services to school districts, cities and towns throughout Eastern Massachusetts, Central Massachusetts, and Southern New Hampshire. Other services include: home-to-school bus transportation for students, chartered bus services for schools and other organizations (including for after school athletics, school field trips, and summer programs and camps); student transportation to out-of-district schools; transportation for students with special needs and/or medical considerations; and transportation to homeless students. NRT also specializes in Special Education Transportation and has developed a collaborative transportation network to help school districts deliver their children to school in the most efficient, safest, and most cost-effective manner. In recent years, NRT has merged with Van Pool Transportation, Trombly Motor Coach, JYL Transportation, and Salter Transportation, growing to nearly 5,000 employees.
We are seeking an organized, dependable, and proficient mechanic to join our growing team. Candidate should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of technical tools. As a qualified mechanic, you must provide incredible customer service skills as well as the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical problems quickly and effectively.
Mechanic Job Duties and Responsibilities
ü Perform routine maintenance on machinery or automotive vehicles
ü Inspect machines for faulty parts
ü Analyze and diagnose mechanical issues
ü Create a plan of action for all repairs
ü Follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs
ü Regularly clean and maintain tools and equipment
ü Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace
ü Input, track and maintain all maintenance data and records
ü Keep machinery is in good working condition
ü Track inventory and order new parts when required
ü Explain to clients the nature of the repairs required, the plan of action, and the options available to them
ü Support coworkers and be a good team player
ü Follow all health and safety laws and guidelines, as well as common-sense safety practices
Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications
ü High school diploma or GED equivalent
ü Associate degree or vocational/trade school certification preferred
ü ASE certification highly desired
ü Proven mechanical acuity and basic math skills
ü Familiarity with common mechanic’s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment
ü Coordinated and dexterous
ü Ability to work in uncomfortable, physically demanding positions, stand on one’s feet for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time
ü Attention to detail
ü Computer literate
ü Excellent customer service skills
ü Clear communicator, and excellent customer service skills
ü Efficient worker
