The Role

The Search & Commerce COE Lead is a centralized leadership role responsible for driving the strategy for Search and Commerce, ensuring our programs and roadmap meets client objectives. In addition to operating as an SEM expert, this position will also drive digital velocity by creating the tools and technology to enable the organization to operate as an augmented sales arm for our current and prospective clients. The Search & Commerce COE Lead will define the best practices in the space across the organization and create the playbooks for our clients to meet the forces of change in our industry. The Search & Commerce COE Lead will thrive in the opportunity to blend science, engineering, and product with a strong focus on customer experience to unparalleled solutions in the space and within our practice.

Responsibilities

Practice Leadership

  • Act as the highest point of knowledge and leadership for the Hearts Search & Commerce practice
  • Possess unparalleled cognition of the search space including SEM, SEO, and e-Retail to inform strategy and buying best practices across the organization
  • Develop thought leadership pieces & case studies to galvanize the practice within the wider agency and industry
  • Create practice playbooks focused on end to end ecommerce experience from search and e-retail to UX top tier virtually tailored experiences
  • Management of Hearts & OMG mandates around compliance, buying practices and training protocol

Product Development

  • Elevate the existing search practice and begin to create a stronger product toolkit around SEO, e-Reatil, and UX
  • Design product strategy, prioritizing features, building consensus, and coordinating feature releases along with internal and external communication
  • Leverage deep rooted understanding of platforms Google, Amazon, Walmart, Target, and tools such as Kenshoo, Criteo, Quotient and to create JBPs, agency tools, education and adoption roadmaps respective of industry best practice
  • Perform consistent surveys of the landscape to identify opportunities to onboard and/or create new technologies
  • Identify new engagement models that enhance the overall operations and efficacy of work
  • Identify, craft and implement best practice protocol around key operational tenets such as buying mechanisms, frequency management, reporting and analytics, audience management, etc.
  • Demonstrate capability to build new specialized functions that address client needs and industry evolutions

Client Service & Growth

  • Possess a performance mindset, understanding how to quantify success for current and prospective clients with varying degrees of business goals
  • Guide staffing decisions and scope assessments that impact the overall health of the practice
  • Build SVP, President and CMO level client relationships to clearly communicate the Hearts & Science value on behalf of the practice
  • Overseeing new account onboarding to ensure teams are adhering to standards and best practices
  • Lead the search and commerce components of new business opportunities
