Position Summary:

The Clinical Manager of Southern Ohio is responsible for the delivery of all programs and services offered by the Greater Cincinnati Chapter to the residents of Programs Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Scioto, Vinton, Ross, Pike, Hocking, Perry Athens, Meigs, Washington, Noble, Morgan and Monroe counties and others as assigned. Responsibilities include recruiting, training and mentoring volunteers to expand chapter reach and establishing and maintaining ties with community organizations within those counties while interacting with the main office of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter.


Responsibilities

  • Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide Information/Referral and Care Consultation Level 1 to individuals and families based on Helpline call follow-up, physician referral, direct chapter contact, and other community needs
  • Advocate on behalf of those living with Alzheimer’s Disease and all other dementias and their caregivers
  • Daily monitoring of SEOH Helpline queue as needed (could be more than one chapter community assigned).
  • Complete all follow up identified in the Helpline queue, triaging to the Program Managers and other chapter staff for follow up as necessary
  • Research and track resources throughout assigned Chapter(s) territory
  • Utilize chapter resources responsibly, using telephonic or video call options when appropriate to minimize travel and staff time.
  • Support chapter goals of increasing overall reach and percentage of volunteer-led programming through assisting Program Manager as needed/assigned in recruitment and training.
  • Maintain accurate records through our data management system.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director on the Association’s strategic initiatives to meet all KPI goals in relation to information and referral and care consultations.
  • Support chapter goals of increasing overall reach and percentage of volunteer-led programming through assisting Program Managers as needed/assigned
  • Build and expand the number of Alzheimer’s Association Community Educators, Alzheimer’s Association Community Representatives, support group facilitators and other Community Volunteers.
  • Support chapter goals in the area of health systems account management through assisting program Managers as needed/assigned
  • Serve as a resource expert on the topics of dementia care for the Alzheimer’s Association, the program team, and communities served
  • Represent the Association at clinical events, conferences, networking groups, and speaking engagements as needed.
  • Assist in planning and executing community forums to grow program reach and ensure that the work of the Association is well presented in the community.
  • Provide support to Program Managers in the expansion and provision of volunteer led education programs as needed.
  • Support the chapter’s work in research by serving as a liaison between appropriate studies and the chapter/Association as needed.
  • Support the chapter’s efforts in community mobilization and volunteerism by serving as a resource in local communities as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, healthcare management or a related field. Master’s degree in the same preferred.
  • 3-8 years’ professional experience in aging or dementia, preferably in the aging network in the counties to be served.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of Alzheimer’s and all other dementias and family caregiving issues
  • Ability to learn to deliver clinical programs and services including Helpline, care consultations, support groups and early stage programs
  • Skilled in training volunteers to deliver education and support groups
  • Well connected in community and able to create successful partnerships with and referrals from physician practices, hospitals and other dementia service providers including long-term care facilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with families as well as individuals affected by dementia.
  • Strong clinical experience that translates to assisting and developing plans to help families throughout the dementia journey, and able to learn computer applications quickly that will allow required record keeping.
  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends, as needed for the job.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%. Most travel will be same day.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.
