POSITION SUMMARY

Heat Pipe Technology (HPT) is a brand within the MiTek family and is at the cutting edge of energy recovery in buildings. Our products are installed into hotels, laboratories, hospitals, and data centers to reduce their energy consumption, whilst they heat, cool, or dehumidify their ventilation air. Whilst we perfect our existing products through quality improvement and cost reduction, we are also developing new products.

We require a team player with excellent reasoning and communication skills, who combines a technical competence with the desire to develop meaningful customer relationships. The Sales Application Engineer is responsible for partnering with current and prospective customers to provide the best solution for their application. While this is primarily a customer facing position, the successful candidate is expected to interface internally with Engineering, Operations and General Management in the advancement of broader company goals. The successful candidate will report to the VP Sales & Marketing. Some travel is required.

A Mechanical Engineering degree is required, with 0-5 years’ industry experience. Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus. Duties include: supporting a representative network with dehumidification and energy recovery applications; interacting with consulting engineers to do the same; and working with the broader team to seek and implement improvements to the way we conduct our business every day.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
  • Work closely with a representative network to implement and price heat pipe and other energy recovery systems.
  • Use software to select and price heat pipe systems & write proposals to customers.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Work with the broader engineering team to develop new products/improvements.
  • Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems or needs.
  • Solicit new business and provide technical customer service.
  • Estimate costs and submit bids for heat pipe projects.
  • Conduct presentations and webinars to representative network and consulting engineers on heat pipe dehumidification and energy recovery systems.
  • Sales data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work under stress to meet customer demands and deadlines accurately and expeditiously.
