Radiology Technician – Enhanced Urgent Care – Columbus, OH

General Summary: Ancillary Staff employed by ESI is responsible for working under the direction of Physicians and Extenders, to provide direct and indirect patient care. The job requires flexibility with work hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Ancillary Staff must have the ability to relate well to patients, peers, employees and other professionals. A positive and professional attitude is required at all times.

Essential Job Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to provide exceptional and compassionate patient care. They must demonstrate friendlies, courtesy and professionalism at all times. They must be proficient in documentation of the patient encounter and work with ESI administration to assure compliance with regulatory requirements. All responsibilities performed must be under the supervision of a physician(s), physician assistant(s), and/or nurse practitioner(s).

Ancillary Duties:

  • Answer telephone, schedule/confirm appointments, operate office equipment, maintain medical records and correspondence files.
  • Greet and register patients upon arrival to initial record of visit in electronic medical record, process insurance eligibility, and collect payment.
  • Assist in caring for others and deliver routine patient care
  • Obtain patient information including, but not limited to: vital signs, histories, height, and weight and record in electronic health record
  • Document/Record Information, and accompany Physician(s) and Extender(s) during patient encounters to enter, transcribe, record, and/or maintain information in electronic health record system(s).
  • Perform services and procedures as directed including, but not limited to: EKG & Monitor lead placement, phlebotomy, splinting, crutch fitting, eye irrigation equipment set up, CLIA-waived point of care testing, specimen collection, wound cleansing, suture and staple removal, specimen collection, suture tray set up and procedural assistance, patient triage
  • Perform diagnostic radiologic examinations upon order, prepares completed exam for interpretation, operates image processing equipment

Other Duties:

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Abides by Corporate policies/guidelines.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Graduate of a Radiology Technology Program, registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Licensed Radiology Technician in the State of Ohio with GXMO
