The Opportunity

Our Director of Medical Records plans, develops, and administers health information system for health care facility consistent with standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies and requirements of health care system. Develops and implements policies and procedures for documenting, storing, and retrieving information, and for processing medical legal documents, insurance data, and correspondence requests, in conformance with federal, state, and local statutes. Supervises staff, directly or through subordinates, in preparing and analyzing medical documents. Participates in development and design of computer software for computerized health information system. Coordinates medical care evaluation with medical staff and develops criteria and methods for such evaluation. Develops in service educational materials and conducts instructional programs for health care personnel. Analyzes patient data for reimbursement, facility planning, quality of patient care, risk management, utilization management.

Essential Duties include the following:

  • Maintain active and inactive resident records in accordance with policy and procedure and regulations.
  • Display professional behavior while assuring compliance with HIPPA.
  • Keep all resident charts in area where staff, physicians or care givers are aware of location.
  • Follow up on requests by outside agencies while keeping administrator informed.
  • Maintain a complete and systematic set of records of all resident records of the facility.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate and minimum age of 18 years of age
