Job Description
Alpha K-9 U, LLC is looking for highly motivated people to join our team and currently hiring part-time and full-time permanent/immediate positions as a Kennel Care Technician.
We primarily train/board dogs of all ages, breeds, temperaments, and special needs (on occasion). Primary job description/duties include handling daycare & boarding guests, occasional bathing, feeding, watering, giving pets-medications, cleaning and sanitizing kennels/suites/dorms, and general cleaning. The Kennel Tech will also be required to provide support in cleaning and organization in other campus areas as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Position involves performing, feeding, watering, medicating, cleaning, handling K-9’s, and supervising K-9’s (during playtime, throughout the day).
- Handling, with patience and ease, K-9’s of all breeds and sizes.
- Maintaining K-9’s medical, general records, and logs.
- Assisting in maintaining our K-9 guests, which consists of cleaning the kennels/kennel areas and daycare areas.
- Providing compassionate, friendly, and professional interactions with clients and all K-9’s.
- Have excellent communication skills -both written and verbal
- Flexible to work some nights and weekends while providing reliable transportation.
- Excel in a fast-paced work environment with multiple distractions.
- Work independently and as a team.
- Physically active (bending, crouching, walking, lifting, etc.)
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1-year experience – Handling K-9’s
Position Requirements (The right candidate must):
- Be able to work weekends and some holidays.
- Be comfortable working with people.
- Be able to lift/carry 40lbs and standing for extended hours.
- Be able to work outside in cold and warm temperatures.
- Have patience with both dogs and people.
- Have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Have good communication skills, both written and verbal – And the right customer service attitude.
- Be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation, animal dander, and excretions.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour
