Responsibilities for Dog Groomer
- Clean the dog’s teeth
- Maintain an upbeat attitude
- Calm an anxious dog
- Ensure company policies are being followed
- Communicate effectively with clients to find out what they need
- Shampoo and wash a dog’s hair or fur
- Create a welcoming environment for dogs and their owners
- Cut or shave a dog’s hair or fur
Qualifications for Dog Groomer
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work with other groomers
- Ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 50 pounds
- Grooming abilities
- Calming presence to soothe dogs
- Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to pass a background check
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work on a team
Groomer’s daily duties may include:
- Bathing and clipping dogs to conform to a variety of breed-specific standard styles
- Detangling and removing matted hair
- Drying the coat
- Checking for parasites and other skin conditions
- Trimming nails
- Cleaning the ears
- Expressing anal sacs
- Brushing teeth
- Adding bows and nail polish for long or curly-haired breeds such as poodles and Shih Tzu
Rates Based on Experience: $11.00-$17.00/hr

We are looking for full-time/Part-time Experienced Groomers to join our high energy, fun, and customer-friendly teams.
Are you an experienced Dog Groomer, who takes his or her craft seriously? The personal pride in grooming an animal is an absolutely necessary quality that Little Tailwagers looks for in a talented Groomer! We provide you with seminars and ongoing training, to be constantly improving and learning new grooming techniques and styles.

We have very competitive pay rates, and they would depend on which grooming level you test for during your skills test evaluation.
